Buses on the Panmure bridge

At huge cost, major upheaval to traffic and in the interest of safety to all, the new Panmure bridge extension finally became a reality.

At last, buses and cyclists are separated from other vehicular traffic and the flow for all is improved. Fantastic.

So why then is it deemed okay for buses and cyclists to continue using the old bridge?

On checking with H&E bus company, it is not mandatory for school buses to use the new extension. Why would this be?

Certainly there are still many cyclists taking it upon themselves to saunter across the old bridge to the anguish of others. If a car were to traverse the new extension no doubt there would be hell to pay.

What’s good for the goose should be good for the gander.
