An accident involving a car and a male pedestrian occurred around 8:15pm on Tuesday 12 March.
It occurred on Whitford-Maraetai Road, near the intersection with Maraetai School Road.
Diversions were put in place, and the serious crash unit attended.
According to Senior Sergeant Jono Chappell, the man remains in hospital in a serious, but stable condition.
The investigation is on-going.
