Howick Village Business Association is assisting with the Middlemore Foundation project “Jammies in June”.

The HVBA is asking the community to donate children’s new flannelette/winter pyjamas for disadvantaged children in South Auckland.

This initiative began in 2013 to help prevent children from being admitted to Kidz First Children’s Hospital from illnesses, such as acute rheumatic fever, during the cooler winter months.

Last year the Middlemore Foundation collected nearly 20,000 pairs of pyjamas but this year they hope to double this number to 40,000, with the generosity of the community.

In addition to winter pyjamas, the Foundation is also asking for donations of good quality beanies, scarves, nighties, mittens and gloves.

Howick Village has four collection points :

Howick Information Service –  115 Picton Street, Howick

Howick Village Optometrists –  94 Picton Street, Howick

Picton Street Alterations – 52 Picton Street, Howick

Howick Village Business Association – 12 Central Terrace, Howick
