Call goes out for sports award nominations

Pakuranga United Rugby Club, on behalf of the Howick Local Board, are calling for nominations for the annual Sports Awards for the 2019 season.

PURC’s Amanda Dyason said: “We are looking to receive as many nominations as possible for the various categories (see below).

“A judging panel will select finalists, and a winner, for each category. Each nomination must be accompanied by a typewritten blurb of no more than 60 words stating why the nominee is worthy of the award.”

“Additionally, please list the nominee’s achievement for the 2019 season.”
Nominations close on Monday March 9 and can be forwarded to Amanda Dyason on email rugbyadmin@purc.co.nz.

The awards evening is on Tuesday March 31 at the Pakuranga United Rugby Clubrooms at Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga.

The evening will include a buffet dinner, awards ceremony and guest speaker Olympic gold medalist Rob Waddell.

Finalists will receive complimentary tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased through Eventfinder at $45 per ticket.

2020 award categories:
Sportsman of the Year; Sportswoman of the Year; Coach of the Year; Masters of the Year; Official of the Year; Club of the year; Junior Team of the Year; Team of the Year; Junior Sportsman of the Year; Junior Sportswoman of the Year; Administrator of the Year; Primary School/Intermediate School of the Year; High School of the Year; Volunteer of the Year; Internationalist of the Year; Service To Sport 20+ Years.
