Croquet have-a-go day

Howick Croquet Club (HCC) held two days of Level Singles tournaments, sponsored by Ryman’s Bruce McLaren Retirement Village.

Saturday’s [September 23] tournament was for players with -6 to +6 handicap and Jim Dickson of HCC was the winner of the Yellow Section.

Sunday was for players with a 7 to 16 handicap and Lauren Goodwin of HCC was runner up in the Blue Section and Veneta Hansen HCC winner of the Yellow Section.

Clubs from Warkworth, Takapuna, Manurewa and Pakuranga were represented. Everyone managed to keep dry and enjoyed the days of competition and camaraderie.

Members of the public are welcome to come along to HCC’s have-a-go day on Saturday, October 7, from 10am-2pm, Millhouse Reserve, 67 Millhouse Drive, Howick.

Wear soft soled sports shoes, bring the family -children over 10 can play, and enjoy a sausage at 12 noon.
