BREAKING – Saint Kentigern College closed due to bomb threat

Police say they’re responding today, November 23, to emails of a concerning nature directed to a number of organisations throughout New Zealand, including schools and hospitals.

News media are reporting that Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga is among those impacted and the school has been closed due to a bomb threat.

“We are working to establish the origin of the emails and have yet to establish any actual threat to any organisation,” police say.

“Staff are working with those impacted and each organisation may respond differently according to their individual circumstances and the information available to them.

“Police acknowledge how unsettling these emails are for all concerned.

“We’d like to thank all involved for their cooperation as we investigation these emails.

“Police will not be disclosing the names of individual organisations that received emails.”

Saint Kentigern College has posted an alert on its website that states the school is currently in “evacuation practice”.

“In accordance with emergency procedures, we have evacuated all students and staff.

“Please do not enter the campus as we are following evacuation procedures.

“Please help keep all our phone lines clear for emergency services.”
