Professional golfer Ryan Fox, of Beachlands, is celebrating a strong finish at the Saudi International European Tour event in Saudi Arabia where he tied for sixth.

Fox, 34, reportedly earned around $133,000 (€79,422.12) tying with Tyrell Hatton (England), Rasmus Højgaard (Denmark) and Viktor Hovland (Norway). 2020 Masters Tournament  winner Dustin Johnson won the event for the second time in three years.

He shot a two-under 68 in the final round on Sunday to finish four shots behind Johnson.

Fox had shared the lead after the second round after securing two consecutive 65s, but he slipped down the leaderboard with a one-over 71 in the third round.

“Obviously really happy with the result,” Fox told the Times.

“Was nice to be back in contention again especially in a strong field like that. A little bit of what if on the weekend as I felt like I played much better than I scored.

“Nice to finish the trip on a good note before my two weeks of quarantine. Also very happy to be about to get on a plane home.”
