This May, Operatunity presents its cast of veteran musical performers who come together to perform hits from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Evita, Cats, Chicago and My Fair Lady.

On Tuesday, May 23, the talented group will perform From Phantom to Les Mis at St Columba Presbyterian Church, Botany at 11am – and they’re bringing along a Guinness World Record holder.

Seasoned performer Rebecca Wright formerly held a Guinness World Record for Singing Upside Down and joins Operatunity for the first time this month.

A finalist in NZ Idol 2006, the star vocalist has an extensive history playing lead roles in prominent musicals, including Cinderella, Evita, Rent and Starlight Express.

Award-winning actress and singer Tizane McEvoy will accompany Wright, bringing to the stage her experience performing numerous lead roles in opera and musical theatre.

She recently performed alongside Operatunity resident artist Karl Perigo in Operatunity’s Glenn Miller & the Andrews Sisters tour to sold-out shows across New Zealand, and has previously been a guest soloist with both the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

The two performers will be joined by artists Lynette Martin, Alex Milligan, Karl Perigo and renowned pianist Paul Carnegie-Jones.

Operatunity’s Daytime Concerts have been performing and touring professionally for 15 years in New Zealand, and this month’s performance is set to be another cracker of a show.
