Police have explained the reason for the presence of officers in east Auckland earlier today, September 10.
A police spokesperson says: “Police attended a sudden death near an address on Gills Road in Bucklands Beach.
“Police attended the location just after midday. The man’s death is being referred to the coroner, and his next of kin has been advised.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
The presence of police officers drew the attention of local residents, who posted on community Facebook pages about a section of nearby Pigeon Mountain Road being blocked.
