Elaine Margaret Brown, June 23, 1943 – October 4, 2021
It is with great sadness that during this latest Covid-19 lockdown, the Times Media team received news that former, respected staff member Elaine Brown died at the Bruce McLaren Retirement Village in Howick where she had been a resident since 2014.
Formerly a Pakuranga resident, Elaine was a sales consultant with Times Newpapers for nearly 20 years.
She was, at first, a familiar sight in the Remuera/Newmarket area where she represented our Bays & Remuera Times publication and then, in both Pakuranga and Howick, becoming well-known and well-liked as Howick’s dedicated ‘local rep’ for the Howick and Pakuranga Times.
A keen participant in all Times endeavours, she was a member of the company’s business house bowls team, playing annually at the Bucklands Beach Bowling Club for many years.
Times Media managing director Reay Neben says Elaine is warmly remembered by her colleagues as honest and hard-working, caring, generous and fun-loving with a deep and abiding Christian faith.
She is survived by her three children, Stephen, Joanne and Greg and her seven grandchildren.
