HPK swimmers win large

Howick Pakuranga Swim Club has again proved their dominance by winning top club at the recently held New Zealand Junior Regional Championships.

The team is coached by Sheldon Kemp, Rachael Palmer and Raymond Booker and led by team captains Laura Wesseling (three medals) and Gustav Campher (six medals).

HPK swimming collected a total of 18 golds, 19 silvers and 14 bronze medals.

The stand out swim of the meet was the 400m free event where HPK swimmer Laura Wesseling, age 12, just managed to nudge out Ella Crowe by 0.18 of a second.

The swimmer of the meet was undoubtedly Daniella Asiata who claimed 11 medals from 11 races.
