DEVELOPMENT

Work has begun on a new medical centre at Ormiston Town Centre.

Developer Todd Property has broken ground on a 3000 sqm, three-level medical centre at 211 Ormiston Road.

Todd Property has an agreement with joint venture partners East Care Group and East Health Services who plan to occupy the building with a super clinic to meet the needs of the growing community. It will include a full range of specialist health care services under a single roof.

East Care CEO Gordon Armstrong says the centre will be an integrated health centre offering a range of high quality primary medical services for the growing population.

“The significant growth of Ormiston makes adequate and high-quality health care a priority, which we will provide through a range of services including general practice, opthalmology, dental, radiology, pharmacy and physio,” says Armstrong.

“We still have two tenancies available, so encourage any complementary businesses to get in touch with us to discuss the opportunity.”

East Care’s current portfolio includes East Care Urgent Care Clinic, which offers 24-hour urgent and after-hours care, and Ormiston Specialist Centre.

East Health Services and East Care jointly own three additional medical centres in the local community -Botany Junction Medical, Highgate Surgery and Summerville Surgery. A fourth, Highbrook Medical, opens in April 2020. East Health Services also has part ownership in a fifth, Beachlands Medical Centre.

Todd Property expects the main building work on Ormiston Medical Centre to be complete by May 2020, followed by a six-month fitout by East Care, who plan to open the premises towards the end of 2020.

Todd Property is working in partnership with Auckland Council’s redevelopment agency Panuku Development Auckland to develop the Ormiston town centre.

Ormiston is an active and growing community with over two thirds of the land area in the town centre project developed and more than 200 new homes built or under construction.

Around two-thirds of the overall Ormiston development has either been completed or is underway, including the 40,000sqm town centre.

Due for completion late 2020, Ormiston Town Centre will include about 100 retail and commercial tenants, a three-level parking structure and four major anchor tenants: Noel Leeming, The Warehouse, an 8-screen HOYTS complex, New World alongside the existing Pak’nSave.

To cater to an active and growing community in Ormiston, the Town Centre will also include a large-format CityFitness gym and childcare centre.
