Local police officer Garry Boles has won a scholarship to study abroad.

Senior Constable Garry Boles honoured for outstanding contributions to New Zealand Police.

Police staff were awarded fellowships from the Woolf Fisher Trust at the Royal New Zealand Police College recently. The monetary award enables recipients’ to undertake a period of study overseas.

Boles has been with the police for 25 years and is a Howick Local Board member.

He is well known in the Botany area from his days as community constable and is now with the police social media team.

Boles will attend two social media conferences in the USA, visit the Metropolitan Police in London followed by Liverpool Police, and ends the trip with a week in Melbourne sharing ideas with the Victorian Police media team.
