Victims stabbed during incident in Auckland

Police are investigating a violent encounter involving three people in Manukau last night.

A man has been charged following a violent incident in Auckland that left two people with stab wounds.

Detective senior sergeant Michele Gillespie of Counties Manukau Police’s crime squad says police have charged a 31-year-old man with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The charges follow an incident that happened at about 6.10pm last night, September 4, near the corner of Te Irirangi Drive and Great South Road in Manukau.

“Two people sustained stab wounds following a disagreement between the driver of a car and two men who were washing car windows nearby.

“The offender is not believed to be known to the victims. The two injured men received moderate injuries.

“A 31-year-old man will appear in Manukau District Court today. Enquiries are ongoing.”
