Two more Filipino children were sponsored when Tearfund’s nationwide tour stopped in Beachlands last Thursday.

Noel Pabiona, Director for Tearfund’s Compassion Sponsorship Programme in the Phillippines, addressed the community at Beachland’s Baptist Church on how child sponsorship is changing lives.

Supported by Kiwi singer-songwriter Omega Levine, the crowd enjoyed a night of music and inspiring talks on how poverty is being tackled in the Philippines.

“It was a fantastic night out with Noel, Omega and the team at Beachlands Baptist,” said Tearfund’s events manager, Sharon Raath.

“We had locals from the area sign up to sponsor a child and heard stories of people being inspired and impacted by the work of Tearfund’s Compassion partnership.”

The two child sponsorships from Thursday night adds to the 633 Filipino children who are already educated, fed, clothed and cared for by Kiwi’s through Tearfund’s Compassion sponsorship programme.
