Suspected heart attack following robbery

A person suffered a medical event following a liquor store robbery in Pakuranga yesterday, police have reported.

Shortly after 4pm yesterday two men entered a liquor store in Pakuranga and stolen alcohol. They then fled in a vehicle.

Police said one person suffered a medical event at the scene following the incident and was in a serious condition.

The Eagle helicopter assisted in trying to locate the offenders.

The NZ Herald reported emergency services were called to Gossamer Dr where the liquor shop owner is believed to have had a heart attack.

A worker at a neighbouring shop New Moon Takeaways said he saw police cars and witnessed quite a commotion, but did not know what happened, the Herald reported.
