Successful season rewarded with national call ups for St Kent’s rugby players

Players from 29 schools across the country have been named in the New Zealand Schools’ and New Zealand Schools’ Barbarians teams for 2019, announced recently by New Zealand Rugby.

Amongst them, St Kentigern College has six players selected across the two national Schools teams.

St Kent’s captain Cam Church, along with Allan Craig, Te Rama Reuben, and Tiaan Tauakipulu, have been named in the New Zealand Schools, while The New Zealand Schools’ Barbarians team boasts Treyah Kingi and Jona Mataiciwa.

Selection in these teams just reward for the St Kents players who made it to the final of the Auckland 1A competition before going down to an impressive King’s College, and for claiming the National Co-Ed Schools trophy after pipping Fielding High school 29-22 recently in Palmerston North.
