It’s been a busy last couple of weeks for police officers working in east Auckland due to multiple serious recent incidents.

Firstly, a police spokesperson says one person has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing following a report of an assault in Beachlands on November 19.

“At about 3.15pm, police were called to an eatery on Kouka Road after a report of a person being assaulted.

“One person was taken into custody at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The victim received minor injuries.”

Secondly, the Times sought information from police after about eight police vehicles were seen at a house in Aviemore Drive, Highland Park, on November 11.

The police spokesperson says officers terminated a series of search warrants at properties across east Auckland that day as part of an investigation into cannabis grow houses.

“Nine search warrants were executed at properties in Highland Park and Flat Bush.

“We’ve located a large amount of mature cannabis plants as a result of the search warrants.

“More than $180,000 in cash has also been recovered. This is part of an ongoing investigation.”

Lastly, the Times was told about an incident that happened in Four Trees in Cockle Bay on the night of the street’s popular annual Halloween community event.

The information provided was that a group of people from outside the area had arrived at the event and allegedly stolen or attempted to steal items and a resident who tried to intervene had been assaulted.

“Police received a reports of a disorder outside an address on Four Trees just after 9pm on October 31,” the police spokesperson says.

“Upon arrival, police spoke with two people, and one was taken into custody. There were no reports of injury.

“A 16-year-old has since been referred to Youth Aid Services.

“Earlier in the evening, police were also called following reports of another disorder.

“A woman was arrested and trespassed from the area and enquiries remain ongoing.”
