Two people have been taken to hospital after being struck by a truck in east Auckland.

A police spokesperson says police and other emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving a truck and two pedestrians on Pakuranga Road at about 11.50am on Monday.

One person is in a serious condition and the other is in a moderate condition.

Both were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The spokesperson says westbound traffic on Pakuranga Road is being diverted while emergency services are at the scene.

Diversions are in place on William Roberts Road.
