One person has been hospitalised following a crash in east Auckland early this morning, July 30.

A police spokesperson says officers attended the crash, which happened on Laings Road in Bucklands Beach and was reported at about 7.38am.

“It was reported that the vehicle collided with a fence.

“The sole occupant of the vehicle has sustained moderate injuries.

“Police will be speaking with the driver of the vehicle and enquiries into the crash remain ongoing.”

A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John says the organisation was notified of this crash at 7.54am.

It responded with one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.

“One patient was assessed at the scene and transported to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition.”

Photos taken of the crash scene and posted on social media show a vehicle on its roof on Laings Road.

A fire truck, an ambulance and at least four police officers are present.

The vehicle appears to have collided with a low retaining wall in front of a residential property’s front lawn.

The crash was attended also by firefighters from the Howick and Mount Wellington fire stations.
