The Howick Pakuranga Community Patrol recently celebrated their twenty-fifth year patrolling East Auckland’s streets.

A new patrol vehicle has been provided to them, courtesy of trust funding from the likes of Pub Charity &  Lions. Local MP Simeon Brown and Councillor Sharon Stewart were on hand to inspect the new Hyundai Kono.

A recent spate of break-ins at the lower Fencible Drive carpark, just down from the Howick Police Station, has local residents concerned.

Fortunately, the patroller’s new wheels will have the crim’s on the run and will aid the volunteers in their core role as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Police.
