Renee Woods, 20, is the new manager at local shop Charity Boutique.

Local thrift shop Charity Boutique has welcomed a new team member into the fold.

Renee Woods, 20, became the manager of the colourful and varied shop in Rices Mall a week ago.

She studied interior design.

“It’s been a bit chaotic, but really fun,” Woods says.

“Howick is a great community.”

Charity Boutique accepts any kind of donated items, Woods says, as long as it’s in relatively new condition.

“There’s so many op shops around,” she says.

“What makes us a ‘top shop’ is our high-quality goods.”

All profits from Charity Boutique go toward Rest Assured Respite Charitable Trust, a support organisation providing a respite facility for primarily, but not exclusively, those with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFs) or Fibromyalgia.

“They (those with ME) get zero Government funding,” Woods says. “It’s a great and needed cause.”

Anyone wishing to donate items, or have a look around the shop, can find the Charity Boutique in Shop 5, Rices Mall at 65 Picton Street, Howick.
