Motorcyclist hospitalised in serious condition

A motorcyclist who was involved in a collision with a motor vehicle late on Friday afternoon was taken to hospital in a “serious condition”.

After the incident happened, about 4.45pm on August 15, the motorcyclist was lying on the usually busy Macleans Road in Bucklands Beach near Macleans College and was attended to by concerned members of the public until ambulance personnel arrived at the crash scene.

Hato Hone St John told the Times it was notified of a motor vehicle accident in Bucklands Beach at 4.57pm.

“We responded with one ambulance and one rapid response unit to the scene.

“Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition,” says Hato Hone St John.

Counties Manukau Police say: “This was a crash between a vehicle and a motorcyclist on Macleans Road reported to emergency services about 4.50pm.

“The motorcyclist had serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.”
