Local companies raise over $20k for cancer

The annual ‘Brave the shave’ was a massive success again this year, with a total of $22,981.51 being raised by United Industries Limited in partnership with Fletchers.

Staff were asked to shave their heads or beards to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

United Industries’ Ben Hammond co-ordinated the event, and said that “It was really great having the challenge aspect this year and Fletcher doing it with us, I am keen to do this again with Fletcher with a new bunch of staff”

“Our Staff also had a lot of fun, we had a large bbq, friends, family&kids, and company directors were all in attendance.”

Ben also wanted to acknowledge Cut Above Academy who provided 15 trainee hairdressers who volunteered to shave people heads& beards at the United Steel, Harris road event on Aug 30th.
