Saraya Daley’s passion and commitment to sports mark her as a remarkable young athlete with a bright future.

Saraya Daley, an 11-year-old from Pakuranga, is making waves in the sports world.

Taking after her dad Sam, who once represented New Zealand at the world triathlon champs, Saraya has become a force to be reckoned with in running, swimming, and biking.

She is taking her first steps towards following his footsteps by entering the Auckland Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon this weekend where she’s excited to put all her training to the test.

Saraya says, “I love sports, and I have come first in every school cross country for the last six years.”

She’s also been a dedicated member of the Pakuranga Athletic Club for many years, excelling in athletics and cross country. Saraya is also a great touch player and even better netball player.

At just 11-years-old, Saraya’s passion and commitment to sports mark her as a remarkable young athlete with a bright future, undoubtedly influenced by her father’s athletic achievements.

As she puts it, “I’m a confident kid and full of life and fun.”

Her top training tip is to practice.

“I do get nervous, but I like to read before a race as it helps me to calm down,” says Saraya.
