Cyclone Tam had presented itself on Wednesday, April 16, and had been causing stress and frowns to appear on many Kiwis’ faces in the North Island.

The storm was whipping severe winds and an inconvenient amount of damage to the environment, trees had been bent over, and floods had started forming from itty bitty rivers.

There was more wind than rain in east Auckland, but upturned umbrellas were seen everywhere.

Not one person was in sight and the roads were clear but glassy and slippery.

Everyone who was out and about seemed to be battling against the wind, hair flying in the air, tissues and leaves skipping past with joy in the breeze.

On Thursday, April 17, and Friday, April 18, many warning alerts were sent to phones.

Finally, there was some relief on Monday, April 21, and all of the North Island braved the weather.

The Mangemangeroa Reserve on Somerville Road was brimming with people, however many trees had fallen down due to Cyclone Tam.

Hopefully these trees will be cleared out and the path will be clear again.
