The Howick Santa Parade is just little over three weeks away and elves are working busily putting the final touches to the Christmas floats and costumes.

The annual parade, which attracts thousands in what is one the largest Christmas parades in the country, will see the main street turned over to local clubs and groups for an afternoon of festive fun.

Organiser Emma Smith of <ITALICS> Times Newspapers said excitement is mounting as the big day draws near.

“Float registrations are coming in thick and fast,” she said.

“It’s gearing up to be another wonderful parade. Registrations are now open and any local schools, groups or businesses can go to our website www.howicksantaparade.co.nz to download entry forms.”

She is confident the parade will attract another strong showing of artistry and talent.
“Last year we had more than 50 groups take part which was our biggest parade ever,” she said.

“Let’s hope we can smash that record this year.”

  • When: Sunday, December 3
    At: Parade starts at 2.30pm
