Life is not always easy, especially post-pandemic and in this time of economic challenge.
Add in the challenge of lively preschoolers and the responsibility of parenting and you’ve got a recipe for exhaustion!
What if there was a way to share the journey? LifeGrowth Community Trust saw a need for a fun-filled community-based playgroup within the Pakuranga area.
With so many young families doing it tough, and looking for opportunities for friendship and support, LifeGrowth Community playgroup was born.
We’ve found connections are so important. Sometimes our greatest need is to sit with a coffee or tea, while our children are safe and having fun, maybe even making a new friend along the way.
We celebrate various cultural events within our community, such as Easter, Diwali, Christmas, Chinese New Year and Matariki celebrations.
Everyone is welcome and accepted. Sometimes we’re even lucky enough to have visitors, for example Hato Hone St John ambulance made an appearance recently.
The children loved having their photo taken with the ambulance, listening to stories, dressing up and learning about 111 on their own paper telephones.
Thank you for coming, Wye. Playgroup is welcoming Rebecca Amoore from Evolve Kids on Friday, August 29, at 10am, for a hands-on session for parents and caregivers of preschool children.
Rebecca is a paediatric occupational therapist and will share simple ways to support emotional regulation, calm young bodies and build skills for learning and growing.

Life Growth community playgroup runs every Thursday morning during school terms from 9.30am-11.30am.
