Effective customer communication is at the heart of local man Quin Wang’s modus operandi, helping him win this year’s Courier Franchisee of the Year at the Fastway Couriers Annual Excellence Awards.

Scott Jenyns, the CEO of Fastway Couriers New Zealand says: “Quin clearly understands the importance of customer service. He communicates well and always exceeds his customers’ expectations.”

Wang operates two Mercedes Sprinter vans in his courier business for the Panmure and Mt Wellington areas where he services some of Fastway Couriers’ biggest national customers.

“The owners and managers of these major customers constantly compliment him,” said Mr Jenyns.

“They say he is the best service provider they have within their operations.

The award highlights Quin’s commitment to the brand, its systems and policies, Mr Jenyns said.

Wang’s attitude and team work has helped Fastway Couriers’ cement strong business relationships with several the company’s larger customers and with the onset of goods ordered online from these customers, he has seen significant growth in his business over the last five years.

As well as half his business attributed to servicing residential areas, Quin also works daily with several large online retailers including Briscoe Group and the Fine Wine Delivery Company.

“Even with the extra-long Mercedes van, I have to make several trips in some instances to ensure my customers get the best courier service in my area.”

The use of the Sprinter vans – the largest available – is a reflection on the volume of parcels Quin handles, having grown his business. Quin took up the courier franchise five years ago and, as a resident of Dannemora, knows the east Auckland area like the back of his hand.
