“The roof was finally put on and we are well on target. As planned, the church will be fully built by April next year,” says Fr Dunford.

“And while the fundraising has been a challenge with Alert Level 4 in the past and the more recent Level 3 and 2.5, we are watching with anticipation as this resource for the community takes shape.”

He explains that the new church will engage not only the parishioners but the wider community too.

“A lot of different groups have shown interest in using the facility and that is very promising,” he says.

“Right now we can’t wait for things to change and for our community of 1500-1600 to get back to daily mass.”
