Three people are dead following a single-vehicle crash in south Auckland today, July 15.
The incident happened on Masters Road, Waiuku.
Police say emergency services were called at about 3.30pm after a vehicle left the road and ended up in a body of water nearby.
“Sadly, all three occupants of the vehicle have died at the scene.
“We acknowledge this is tragic news for the tight-knit community in Waiuku.
“Next of kin have now been contacted and police will be ensuring support is put in place for them.”
At 6.08pm, police said their serious crash unit is in attendance and will carry out an investigation to determine how the crash occurred.
Masters Road, between Waiuku and Kidd Roads, will remain closed for a significant period of time.
