NZ Blood has had to cancel some of its blood collections due to the lockdown restrictions.

“However, the need for blood and plasma doesn’t stop – even in Covid restriction level 4,” says donor relations coordinator Angela Paki.

Blood donation is an essential service and the New Zealand Blood Service remains open.

“Our donor centres are safe places to visit and we take all necessary steps to ensure that stays the case.

Eligible individuals are asked to please help us and donate.” Paki told the Times.

“The Howick Bowling Club have kindly allowed us to extended our collection and we will be here for the rest of the week.”
