The Times – with support from Howick historian Alan La Roche – has once again produced the much sought-after historical calendar.

This coming year is really important for the area as Howick, Pakuranga and districts prepare for the 175th celebrations in 2022.

The photos depict the past 175 years and how the area then known as Howick and districts developed.

Times Media’s managing director Reay Neben said: “These calendars proved very popular last year and so we decided especially after the Covid lockdown it was important – with Alan La Roche’s help – to produce them again.

“Our front cover is of the old Marine Hotel which burnt down in the 1920s.

“It was on the same site upon which the Prospect of Howick now proudly stands.”

The calendars are available at the Times offices (10 Central Terrace) and also Poppies Bookshop (on Picton St).

You can phone us on 2718000 or email info@times.co.nz.

The Times will also have a stand selling these and other Howick products at the Christmas Fair in Howick Village on Friday, November 20.
