There’s a new service dedicating to supporting families with young children in east Auckland.

Whānau Āwhina Plunket recently opened its new family hub at the Botany Town Centre.

The organisation is a charity and New Zealand’s largest support service for the health and well-being of children under-five and their family.

The space will offer WellChild and B4 School appointments, playgroups and has capacity for other providers, such as midwives, to share the space.

It also offers east Auckland families and caregivers the convenience of combining their shopping and errands with a Plunket checkup or visit.

The new centre was officially opened with a dawn blessing by local iwi Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, with Whānau Āwhina Plunket’s chief executive Fiona Kingsford in attendance.

Plunket Counties Manukau clinical services manager Joanne Udy says: “Plunket wants to make it as easy as possible for whānau to access their services with clinics in central, family friendly locations.

“Haere mai, welcome! Come and visit our friendly staff upstairs in the mall. We’d love to see you.”
