Today we are sadly reporting the deaths of 17 people with Covid-19.

These deaths take the total number of publicly reported deaths with Covid-19 to 1039 and the 7-day rolling average of reported deaths is 14.

Of the people whose deaths we are reporting today; three were from the Auckland region, three were from the Wellington region, two were from Northland, two were from Canterbury, two were from the Southern region, and one each from Waikato, Tairāwhiti, Mid Central, Hawke’s Bay, and Nelson Marlborough.

One person was in their 50s, one was in their 60s, four were in their 70s, five were in their 80s and six were over 90.

Of these people, 13 were women and four were men.

This is a very sad time for whānau and friends and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this time.

Out of respect, we will be making no further comment on these deaths.
