Police are investigating the alleged robbery of an east Auckland jewellery store by a group of offenders this afternoon, September 9.
Inspector Danny Meade of Auckland City Police says at about 4.20pm, police received reports a group of seven offenders have entered a store at the Botany Town Centre.
“This group have used various weapons to smash the glass cabinets and have taken a quantity of jewellery.
“They have left in two stolen vehicles, which were found abandoned a short distance away.
“Enquires are ongoing, with police speaking to a number of people of interest.”
Police have not identified the store, but posts on social media indicate it was the Michael Hill, which has been targeted by offenders several times in recent years.
