Staff at an east Auckland bank have staged a successful community sausage sizzle to help raise money for a live-saving emergency service.

The team at the Westpac Highland Park bank joined forces with the bank’s customer Mainfreight to host the barbecue last Friday to raise funds for Westpac NZ’s annual Chopper Appeal, which runs throughout May.

The new Pak’nSave Highland Park generously donated ingredients for the event, “meaning more funds were able to go to keep our life-saving rescue helicopters in the air”, the bank says.

A happy customer enjoys a delicious sausage.

“The team really enjoyed chatting with all the locals and customers who came along to support the event.

“And it was also great to be able to celebrate the fact the Westpac Highland Park branch is now open every weekday to help serve the local community.”

All money raised at the sausage sizzle will go toward the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.
