This month is Chopper Appeal month for Westpac NZ, when the bank’s teams go the extra mile to raise funds for local rescue helicopter trusts to help keep the choppers in the air and saving lives.
From sausage sizzles to bake sales, quiz nights and endurance events, it’s been a busy May.
And from 11am to 1pm on Friday, May 30, the Westpac Highland Park branch team are doing their bit to raise funds by running a sausage sizzle outside their bank, by the new Pak’nSave supermarket.
Their customer Mainfreight has jumped on board to help, and Highland Park Pak’nSave has also pitched in by donating ingredients and drinks for the event.
The Westpac team hope lots of locals will go along for a snag, a chopper donation, and a chat.
“This week Westpac Highland Park has extended its opening hours to be open Monday to Friday, 9.30am-4pm, so the sausage sizzle is also a bit of a celebration of that,” the bank says.
“The team are really looking forward to being able to support the community every weekday.”
All money raised at the sausage sizzle will go toward the local Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.
