Quay Gallery is a long-established name in the New Zealand art industry and has represented Kiwi artists for more than 15 years.

Based originally in Ahuriri Quay in Napier before moving to Hastings Street, the gallery has an incredible history in offering New Zealand artists a place from which to present and promote their art.

In 2020, Quay Gallery owners thought it time to retire, the lease on the Napier Gallery was up and there were things to move on with.

It was at this time that Howick locals Nicki and Grant Richards decided to fulfil a dream of one day owning an art gallery.

Quay Gallery presented the ideal opportunity and on January 27, 2022, just over a year later, the gallery will open its doors at their new location, 7A Whitford Wharf Road, Whitford Village.

“We are so excited to be opening Quay Gallery in Whitford. We have lived in this area for many years and this community is a big part of our lives.

“We will continue to bring art to the people through in-home presentations and art consultations but having a gallery space will mean our artists’ work can now be beautifully displayed for all to see.”

Quay Gallery invites everyone to join in viewing their first exhibition featuring works by Clare Wilcox and glass by David Traub, in addition to their gallery display of Quay artists.

Opening hours are Thursday, Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday – Wednesday gallery and in-home viewings by appointment.
