The Elemental Winter Festival offers a wide range of activities and artwork.

As part of the Elemental Winter Festival/East Auckland Art Trail, the Polish Museum in Howick is showcasing Polish science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem and the zany artworks of illustrator Daniel Mróz in July during school holidays.

The four events are an exhibition, slideshow presentation and craft workshops.

Exhibition ‘Art and Fiction’ showcases their farmed work for their absurdly unique science fiction writing and illustrations. This runs from July 15 to August 1.

The presentation slideshow ‘Illustration and Imagination’ featuring Lem and Mróz is on Thursday July 22 and Sunday August 1.

The Science fiction artworks: Lem and Mróz workshop allows you to use your imagination and create your own science fiction papercraft book cover and character drawing to take home. It’s on Sunday July 18 from 2pm-4 pm.

At the Folk Art wycinanki paper cut-outs’ workshop on Sunday July 25 from 2-4 pm, you can make traditional Polish paper cut-outs and take it home.
