Quay Gallery is a long-established name in the New Zealand art industry representing Kiwi artists for more than 15 years.

Based originally in Ahuriri Quay in Napier before moving to Hastings Street, the gallery has an incredible history in offering New Zealand artists a place from which to present and promote their art.

In 2020, Quay Gallery owners thought it time to retire, the lease on the Napier Gallery was up and there were things to move on with.

It was at this time that Nicki and Grant Richards, Howick locals, decided to fulfil a dream of one day of owning an art gallery.

Quay Gallery presented the ideal opportunity and now, just months later, Quay Art Gallery will hold its first Exhibition in Auckland at Uxbridge Arts and Culture in Howick – a fitting place for the gallery’s debut.

Quay’s approach to the Auckland market will be a considered one.

Choosing to bring art to the people, as opposed to waiting for the people to come and find their art in one physical gallery space.

Quay will offer a personalised professional service – in -home presentations and private group viewings of select Quay pieces, temporary exhibitions in Auckland and pop-ups throughout New Zealand will enable the new Quay Gallery owners to fulfil the promise of soundly promoting artists and their art.

You are invited to join in the viewing of their first exhibition from February 9-20 at Uxbridge Arts and Culture, Uxbridge Road, Howick. Here’s your chance to view work from more than 40 New Zealand top artists.
