Poles at Monte Cassino – 80 Years exhibition.
Many of the Polish children of Pahiatua’s relatives fought alongside other Allies in the Battle of Monte Cassino in Italy. Polish Forces eventually captured the strategic hill on 18 May 1943, after heavy casualties, with over one thousand killed and three thousand wounded.
Exhibition on from May 12-19th at the Polish Museum, 125 Elliot St, Howick.
Open hours are Tue-Fri 10am-4pm and Sun 12pm-5pm.
Casual entry is by donation. A small fee applies for groups.
