East Auckland home carer and solo mum Judy Ireland has won New Zealand’s first ever Range Rover giveaway.
Ireland has taken care of her intellectually disabled brother since she was nine years old and became his formal caregiver at age 16.
The Pakuranga resident has always put herself last, raising three daughters on her own.
After months of anticipation and millions of entries, she’s won a luxury 2024 Range Rover Evoque, valued at over $125,000, in a competition run by wellness brand Moodi, which says Ireland began buying its drinks for her brother to help with his gut issues.
“Judy also didn’t own her own car, until now and a luxury Range Rover no less.
“She also was in hospital in early May, with her daughters coming to visit her with Moodi sodas as her special treat.
“The competition, which launched in March, was the first of its kind in New Zealand, marking the first time a Range Rover has been given away in a nationwide sweepstakes.”
Moodi co-founder, 26-year-old entrepreneur Kate Gatfield-Jeffries, says the brand is “absolutely thrilled” to be handing the vehicle’s keys to Ireland.
“This has been our biggest giveaway ever and the response was phenomenal.
“We’ve had an incredible community backing us, and this was our chance to give back in the boldest way possible.”

Ireland says she thought she was being delivered flowers as she’d recently attended a concert by North American rock band ZZ Top and she wondered who she’d given her phone number to.
“It was a complete shock when Kate turned up with the Range Rover.
“I couldn’t believe it. I don’t have a car so this is beyond belief.”
Ireland’s daughters Annette, Angelina and Danielle say their mum is the most deserving winner of the vehicle.
“She always does everything for everyone else. She’s her brother’s full-time carer.
“She puts herself out for everyone. We are so happy for her.”
The Moodi giveaway drew national buzz across TikTok and Instagram, with hundreds of thousands of organic impressions and a flood of comments and excitement from Kiwis eager to win the luxury SUV.
Kate Gatfield-Jeffries and Nick Ward co-founded Moodi in 2022.
They set out to shake up the wellness industry with science-backed, delicious functional supplements that support mental wellbeing, gut health, sleep, stress, and energy, all with a refreshing twist.
What began with just $400 in revenue has exploded into one of Australasia’s fastest-growing wellness companies, with a loyal following of over 100,000 customers and one in 30 New Zealand women now using Moodi products.
