Counties Manukau Police are investigating two robberies that took place on Sunday night.

The first occurred on Pakuranga Road – believed to be the Z service station – around midnight and the second occurred on Te Irirangi Drive – BP Connect on the Ormiston Rd corner) around 1.30am, a police spokesperson said.

Police could not confirm the premises citing privacy. A social media site however has carried numerous posts and images of the targeted premises.

“In the first incident the attendant activated a panic alarm after several offenders broke through the glass doors.

“In the second incident offenders smashed a window and entered the store.”

No one was injured in either incident.

“The offenders unsuccessfully attempted to take cigarettes from the first premise and stole a handful of cigarettes from the second location.”

Police believe that they are both linked and are searching for a silver Subaru Impreza that was connected to both incidents.

Police are also making enquiries into CCTV footage at both premises.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1300 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
