Armed police have swooped on a property in west Auckland in a hunt for the man wanted in relation to a homicide in Pakuranga last week.

Turiarangi Tai, 22, is on the run from police after 22-year-old, mother of two, Chozyn Koroheke was fatally shot at close range last Tuesday.

Police confirmed the search was related to Operation Clipper – the investigation into Ms Koroheke’s killing.

There was also a police presence at Pakuranga Plaza related to the investigation – but police confirmed it turned out to be nothing.

Tai remains on the run. He’s thought to have contacts in Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty and is potentially armed.

Anyone with information as to Tai’s whereabouts should contact Detective Sergeant Mark Jamieson on 09 261 1300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
