UPDATED 9:23AM An 11-year-old boy is in hospital after being hit by a car on Thursday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene on Bucklands Beach Rd, near the Highland Park intersection at 3:09pm.
The boy was taken to Middlemore Hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
