The programme was announced at the launch of the Find Your Field of Dreams project earlier this month.
That project aims to give young people the opportunity to access sporting facilities and opportunities.
Manukau Leisure, a council controlled organisation, will provide its pools, transport and instructors at no charge.
For those schools that have their own pools, Manukau Leisure personnel will be made available.
Wakaaranga and Yendarra School in Otara are the first two schools piloting the project, although 17 have already registered.
Community Swim aims to provide children aquatic skills for life.
