TEENAGERS have been putting their powers of persuasion to good use in a competition to become the Youth MP for Botany.

Pansy Wong is looking for someone aged 16-18 who lives in the ward to represent the electorate in the triennial youth parliament.

The winner, to be judged by Mrs Wong and Times editor Darren Risby, will have the use of Mrs Wong’s office and take part in a youth parliamentary session in Wellington, which is provisionally planned for July.

During their stay in the capital, the budding politicians will work together to develop a submission on a bill they are considering in the Beehive.
