SHOPPERS have illustrated that the spirit of giving is continuing well beyond the festive season.
Balloons, face-painting and eye testing at Specsavers Botany has raised $650 for the Fred Hollows Foundation NZ.
That money will cover the cost of surgery to restore the sight of 26 people who are living in the Pacific Islands.
Plenty of families went through the doors to enjoy the activities on offer and made donations to the charitable foundation. The store also performed 22 eye tests on the day, with $25 from each test contributed to the fundraising
People also donated $100 worth of gold coins to help New Zealand’s Pacific neighbours.
