A VEHICLE and its five teenage occupants ended up for the worse after the car ploughed into the back of a stationary delivery truck.
Household appliances were being unloaded from the truck in Clovelly Road, Bucklands Beach, at about 11.30am last Tuesday when the car sped into it. The road was closed until about 2pm.
Five local teenagers were inside the Nissan Pulsar hatchback, which was being driven in the same direction as the truck was facing when the car sped into the back of the truck.
The car was extensively damaged. All five occupants were taken to Middlemore Hospital, with two of the passengers suffering serious injuries.
The serious crash unit attended the accident and police say the 16-year-old male driver will be charged.
